The only anime I have seen based in Britain, this is set in the near future at a time when demon like creatures are roaming the land, and an organization called Invicta Hellsing is set up by the world governments to try to stop them wreaking their havoc. The Hellsing are losing the battle, and must turn to a sinister and mysterious hybrid called Alucard for assistance, which he grants, but inevitably there will be a price.
Action packed and adult-oriented, this one was a little too macho for me. Yeah it's gory, yeah it's violent - both good things in my view - but there is no joy involved. It's a little too clinical and cynical.
It's an okay watch, and there are only 13 episodes so it won't take up too much of your time, but there are much better anime series out there.

The Undead A priest seems to have been turned into a vampire. Alucard is unleashed by Invicta Hellsing to take down the Godly vamp and, in the ensuing battle, must himself bite Seras to save her life when she is shot, effectively siring her.

Club M Seras battles with the idea that she is no longer human, but must put her thoughts on hold when she and Alucard are deployed once more, this time on the trail of a pair of family slaughtering vampires.

Sword Dancer A new microchip allows humans to be turned into vampires without the need for a vampire bite. Seras and Alucard are sent to a morgue to investigate, when a Vatican Priest turns up, heavily armed. It seems he is about to kill Seras, when Alucard blocks his path.
