| It's not often I describe something as a dirge
but, in this instance, no other word seems appropriate. Doom metal is what we have here, though these guys stretch the conventions to breaking point, riffs stretched over what feels like an eternity, tracks that last even longer than that. It's highly emotive, mind, coming across as sinister and oppressive which is surely the idea, so they have done a fine job in achieving what they set out to do, just a shame it's so insufferable to listen to. Not one for me, then, but Doom heads may well love it. |
