Listen, the chops are great, thick, staccato slabs of head bangingly good riffs, but it's the pace that kills me. Everything feels just that half a beat too slow. I want them to crank it up just a tiny fraction but then I am aware that, had they done so, their popularity would have suffered.
There's too much blues on show, too, each lead line laced with the blues scales that make my hind quarters rise up in a way that only usually happens when a wrestler is on screen.
I wanted to love this.
I really did.
As it happens, I can only say I like it a bit.
